The Housing Ombudsman is making some changes to its Complaint Handling Code.
It is launching a joint Complaint Handling Code with the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman (LGSCO).
The aim of the Complaint Handling Code is to resolve complaints quickly and for organisations, like Homes Plus, to learn where things have gone wrong and to make service improvements for the benefit of their tenants. It also acts as a guide of what you should expect from the complaint’s process.
You can have your say in the consultation survey. Your feedback will help influence how social housing landlords and councils’ complaint handling services are provided to more than 28 million households.
The Housing Ombudsman is seeking views about:
- The Code and whether any further improvements can be made to this.
- Their proposals for monitoring compliance – whether these are transparent, proportionate and fair, and what else they might need to consider to be effective and efficient.
You can find out more and submit your feedback on the Housing Ombudsman website using the link below:
The consultation will run until 23 November 2023.
