The cost of living continues to rise, making it harder to make ends meet for lots of households. This winter, we’re once again supporting customers with helpful advice on how to save money, stay safe and keep warm through our Keep Well & Warm campaign.
If you’re struggling financially or concerned about how you’re going to heat your home, we’re here to help.
“Since it was launched in winter 2022, our Keep Well and Warm campaign continues to grow,” said Head of neighbourhoods, Kevin Davies.
“We know that many of our customers are struggling due to the rise in living costs. This year we’re signposting to even more ways to receive free support and advice.
“Plus, we’re still offering year-round specialist support provided by our Employment and money advice team (EMA).
“In 2023-24 the dedicated team helped even more customers to achieve money savings totalling over £3m.
“If you are worried about how you are going to pay for essential bills over the winter, please talk to us. Complete an online form on our website and we’ll be in touch.
“You can also drop-in and see our EMA team at one of our Community Hubs, where you will be greeted with a warm and friendly welcome.”
You can find out more about our Community Hubs, including opening times, on our ‘drop-in and see us’ page. You can also contact our EMA team by completing an online referral form or calling us on 0800 048 8955.
We’re also making our homes warmer, greener and cheaper to run by improving the energy efficiency of our existing housing stock, particularly older homes that were not built to today’s stringent energy-efficiency standards. Read more about this work or visit the ‘Your money’ area of our dedicated Keep Well & Warm page to find energy saving tips, as well as signposts to government help available.
What should I do if I have a frozen pipe? How can I avoid common problems in winter? How can I test my heating? Find the answers to these questions and further advice to help you keep your home warm and stay safe this winter in the ‘Your home’ area.
Don’t brush off the ‘winter blues’. Many people experience feelings of loneliness and isolation at this time of year. Visit the ‘Your wellbeing’ area for signposts to help and support, including information on our free ReConnected service for people aged 55+ in Stafford Borough and South Staffordshire.
And we’ll be posting helpful tips on our Facebook page about how you can make sure your home is ready for winter.
