Marking National Apprenticeship Week 2022, grounds maintenance apprentice Jordan Edwards had the special task of throwing two special ‘seed bombs’ in an area dedicated to a wild flower meadow in the grounds of one of our retirement living communities.
Jordan was well-placed to look after the seeds of bee-friendly plants and flowers as he is studying towards a Level 2 horticultural apprenticeship.
Jordan was joined by his manager Matt Dovydaitis and Housing Plus Group’s early careers manager Penny Johnson.
“The seeds are a beautiful mixture including cornflower, yarrow and red campion, contained within a compostable shell,” said Penny. “As the containers are thrown, the seeds scatter, ready to bloom later in the year. The seed bombs represent all the growth and development opportunities for apprentices like Jordan.”
